TFC Subtitled Programs FAQ

[accordion-item title=”1. Why does TFC have subtitles now?”]It is TFC’s intention to reach out to the Filipino wherever he or she may be. With English subtitles, the whole family can now enjoy watching Tagalog programs together.[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title=”2. Which programs on TFC are subtitled?”]

Currently, the programs with subtitles are the following:

Drama Programs:

  • MMK
  • All teleseryes(and their replacements plus additional soaps, if any)
  • Oh My G!
  • Flordeliza
  • Ricky Lee’s Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita?
  • Bagito

  • Dream Dad
  • Forevermore
  • Two Wives
  • Inday Bote
  • Bridges of Love


  • Bandila

Variety and Talk:

  • KrisTV
  • Aquino and Abunda Tonight

  • The Buzz
  • Rated K


  • Matanglawin
  • Wansapanataym

Why aren’t all programs on TFC subtitled?”]Based on our assessment, the aforementioned programs were given priority in subtitling either due to their popularity, educational value or discussion of current events relevant to Filipinos. There are other programs with similar characteristics, but it’s a big challenge to subtitle them because they use cultural specific words that don’t have direct translation in English.[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title=”4. Do you have plans of subtitling all programs in the future?”]This depends on whether or not TFC subscribers will embrace subtitled programs, or if there is a huge and far-reaching demand or request from them to subtitle all programs.[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title=”5. Will subtitled programs be permanent?”]This depends on whether TFC subscribers will generally prefer subtitled programs or not.[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title=”6. Will there be subtitles in the aforementioned programs on all platforms in all regions?”]Yes. There will just be a slight delay in Asia Pacific, Europe and Middle East because of the required number of hours for our service provider to turn around subtitled programs. Because of this, subtitles will be seen on the replays of the programs on cable, DTH and IPTV in said regions. This is not an issue in North America because of the time zone difference.[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title=”7. I’m having difficulty watching TFC programs because of the subtitles. Can I turn it off?”]Subtitles are embedded on the video so this can’t be removed from the screen.

For those on TFC Cable/Satellite:
The subscriber will not have any options since subtitles are directly converted to the affected programs.

For those on
The subscriber may choose to watch the subtitled shows or the program without the subtitles. There is a tab wherein all subtitled shows are placed. Subscribers can find it on>SHOWS>SUBTITLED SHOWS.

For those on IPTV platform:
The subscriber will have two options to watch: one with and one without subtitles. If you opt for no subtitles, you can find these at their usual genres. If you opt for subtitles, go to TFC>VIDEO ON DEMAND>SUBTITLED PROGRAMS.

[accordion-item title=”8. Will the subtitles be included when I record the programs?”]Once subtitles are embedded in the programs, these will show up on the playback of your video recording devices.[/accordion-item]
[accordion-item title=”9. I spotted errors in the subtitles? To whom can I report this?”]Subtitling is a huge and complex task. Translators have to contend with fast dialogue, number of speakers and context of the conversation. Due to the short lead time to translate, some mistakes in spelling, grammar or syntax may be unavoidable. Rest assured that TFC is doing this with its service provider in the most professional manner. [accordion-item title=”10. How come I’m not seeing any subtitles?”]English subtitles are only available in selected programs. If a selected program has no subtitles at a designated time (including replays in Asia Pacific, Europe or Middle East), this means there is an ongoing technical issue. If this happens, Customer Support and Engineering will provide appropriate and timely customer advisories and updates so customers are informed on the status of the issue.[/accordion-item]
